Violinist, songwriter, composer, and folk-singing fairy in Chicago, IL, Stella Solveig’s work combines her classical music training with her lifelong love of folk music, musical theater, and improvisation.

Described as an embodied, present performer with her heart on her sleeve, Stella’s works tell stories through her honest lyrics, melodic sensibilities, and love of rich harmonies.

Stella has performed in and led a variety of ensembles ranging from string quartets, symphony orchestras, and choirs to new music improvisation groups, Balkan music groups, and bluegrass jams. She brings these invaluable experiences with her to the page as a composer and writer, and to the stage as an independent performing artist.

Check out her first single, an orchestral ballad for violin and voice: I Wanna Live! I Wanna Try!, her acoustic Live EP: Hope Flies, and her minimalistic composition Theme I for the A76 podcast.
